Highlights in Reno include the Fleischmann Planetarium, Nevada's first planetarium, and the Keck Museum. Both attractions are located at the University of Nevada at 1664 N. Virginia St. Along with the Mackay silver collection, exhibits in the museum include mining artifacts, rocks, minerals and fossils.

Entrance is free to the museum. The planetarium has an admission fee and features films and a public observatory. For hours and admission call 775-784-4528. Both are open year-round.

The National Bowling Stadium on 300 N Center Street is a fun place for bowling tournaments and other special events. The facilities include shops, a restaurant and a theater. For opening hours and admission fees to the theater call 775-334-26001.

The May Arboretum and Botanical Garden is also a year-round attraction and open sunrise to sunset year-round. Features include many theme gardens and songbird garden. For admission cost call 775-785-4153. Guided tours are available for a small fee. Location is at 1502 Washington St. Opened sunrise to sunset every day year-round. Free admission and small fee for guided tours.

Also at the same location at Rancho San Rafael Park, children might enjoy the May Great Basin Adventure. It's a park with farm animals, an underground mine and pony rides. It is open Memorial Day through Labor Day. For admission fees and more information call 775-785-4319.

The states oldest museum is located at 1650 N. Virginia Street. Nevada Historical Society Museum features exhibits from the past to the present. Admission is just $2 for adults. 18 and under free. Opened year-round except major holidays.

The National Automobile Museum on 10 Lake Street has over 200 cars, a multimedia theater, exhibits, and a museum store. Otherwise know as Harrah's Collection, there's a fee for admission and it's open year-round expect for major holidays. For fees and opening hours call 775-333-9300.

Nevada Museum of Art at 160 W. Liberty Street offers a variety of exhibitions ranging from the modern to the historic. For fees and scattered hours call 775-329-3333. Opened year-round.
