Most of the activities and attractions in Anchorage and all of Alaska focus on the outdoors: Mountain climbing,
skiing, fishing, hunting, and dog-sledding are not only relegated to visitors, most of the residents partake in these active
sports, as well. In fact, most of the residents don't sit still for long.
Residents of Anchorage enjoy the natural wonders of their state by
exploring the landscape around them, like touring Denali National Park, fishing along the Kenai Peninsula and
watching the spectacular northern lights. When they aren't playing outdoors, they sing and dance and act in theater
productions. Other indoor attractions include the Anchorage Museum of History and Art and the Alaska Native
Heritage Center.
