Getting Around Vegas
Las Vegas Travel Tip
Although it's nice to have a car in Las Vegas, especially if you want to play on the strip, which
stretches across several miles, you can get around quite nicely using city transit. Of course,
most of the casinos on the strip have extra large parking lots (free) and many offer valet parking.
There is also plenty of room for RV's. Even downtown parking spots are usually available if
you don't mind walking a few blocks.
Several tour companies offer sightseeing excursions in and around the city. Most have offices in
the lobbies of the hotel casinos. However, if you plan on exploring the city's outskirts on your
own, then a car is a must.
Traffic usually slows down on the strip where drivers can't help but look at the architecture on
both sides of the highway. Downtown, several blocks are closed to traffic. Here it is the
pedestrians who pause to stare.
Because of the constant development happening, be prepared to come across road crews with
some delays.
