Getting to the Big Island
The Big Island Travel Tip
There are two major airports on the Big Island. Kona International Airport and Hilo
International Airport. Flights directly to the Big Island arrive regularly from San Francisco,
Oakland, and Los Angeles in California and Tokyo in Japan, and via seasonal charters from
Vancouver, Canada. Or you can fly to Kona or Hilo via Honolulu (35 minutes away) from
anywhere and anytime in the world.
The Big Island is also a popular port of call of many Cruise Lines, which bring many day visitors
to its shores.
Major Airlines that service the Big Island include Aloha, United and American.
