Getting Around BC
British Columbia Travel Tip
Getting Around British Columbia
Trans Canada 1 is the only highway that leads to the rest of the
province out of Vancouver. Once beyond Hope, there are three choices to the
interior.
Trans Canada Highway traverses the historic Gold Rush route through
the Fraser Canyon and on to Alberta; the tolled Coquihala Highway climbs
panoramic vistas to Kamloops, and a connecter highway picks up highway 97
traveling north and south into the Okanagan Valley.
There are
several secondary crossings along the American border into small interior
towns along the Rocky region. Via rail offers a scenic route from Vancouver to
Jasper and BC Rail has service to Prince George. Greyhound offers daily
runs throughout the province.
BC Ferries offers service to Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands and Haida Gwaii.
