Packing for Belize
  Orange Walk District Travel Tip

suitcase_packing.jpg Packing for Belize.

Sunny and casual are the words to keep in mind when packing for Belize.

Important items to bring are suntan lotion, bug repellant, sun glasses, and a wide brim hat. Pack sandels, shorts, tee-shirts and a bathing suit for the beach and long pants and long-sleeve shirt for trekking in the jungle. A light all-weather jacket will keep you dry when there's an unexpected downpour and good hiking boots are vital to comfortably climbing ruins. For optimum comfort when hiking, bring a light backpack where you can stash bottled water, trail mix, wet-ones and your camera, film and binoculars. Sunburn lotion and lip balm are good first-aid sundries to have on hand. If you need to get dressy for dinners, bring silk shirts for him and her, a silk skirt or slacks for her and black or white cotton trousers for him.

If you plan on a specific activity, like snorkeling, fishing or scuba diving, bring your own gear. Scuba divers require their diving logs and certificate.
