Now Open, Resort Highlights Water and All Senses
Los Cabos, Mexico: June, 2003: With a dramatic 36-foot waterfall, a chef with a Michelin
pedigree, and a major Latin American art collection, the new 237-suite Marquis Los Cabos
Beach, Golf, Spa and Casitas Resort is now open.
The resort, a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, is on the tip of Baja California,
where the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean meet. It is nestled between Jack Nicklaus and
Robert Trent Jones II designed 18-hole golf courses, one of which is ranked number one in

Special introductory rates from now to October 10 are offered starting at $290 for a
junior suite with complimentary breakfast. Romance, soft adventure, and golf packages are also available.
Privacy and romance rule the day as a complimentary Marquis breakfast complete with coffee or
tea, bread-basket and fresh fruit is delivered daily to each room via a small latticed alcove
adjacent to the guestroom door, and a masseuse is available for in-room or beachfront massages.
The largest spa in Los Cabos, at close to 27,000 square feet, opens in December and will feature
holistic spa treatments that use indigenous ingredients, such as cactus oils, sea salt and agave.
Guests are offered a variety of these spa treatments in a private casita until the spa opens.
Executive Chef Thierry Dufour, who has a pedigree of a two star Michelin restaurant in France,
presides over the kitchen, combining French, Mexican and Caribbean cuisines.
About the Hoteles Marquis
Owned and operated by Hoteles Marquis, the new property boasts 203 Junior suites and 28
"casitas." The stylish casitas redefine a house on the beach as one-bedroom apartments with floor
to ceiling window walls with ocean views, large living area, wet bar for entertaining, and private
pool. Also opening in October, are five deluxe double-height Marquis Suites each with its own
pool and a Presidential Suite. The Resort honors its distinct natural surroundings with views from
every room of the open beach, and several gardens filled with colorful local flowers and cacti.
All the suites, including the spacious 2,604 square-foot Marquesa del Mar Presidential Suite,
offer Bulgari amenities, choice of reversible firm or soft mattress, goose-down comforters, Frette
bed linens, high speed internet access, full hydro-massage bath with an ocean view, and plush
robes and slippers for lounging on each room's personal balcony.
Marquis Los Cabos combines contemporary Mexican architecture in the school of Barragan and
Legorreta with traditional Southwestern Santa Fe style, to create an elegant, comfortable design
all its own. An extensive art collection features specially commissioned oil paintings and bronze
sculptures by leading Latin American artists including: Ana Mercedes Hoyos, Carlos Rios, Jorge
Marin, Augustin Castro, and Fernando Garrido. An original oil painting is featured in each suite.
The property is located in the "Cabo Real" section of Los Cabos, just six miles from the airport
and only five miles from the town of San Jose del Cabo.. A special golf desk arranges reserved
tee times up to a year in advance.
