The Havana Flying Club Introduces $99 Fare from Major Florida Gateways to Havana, Cuba via Nassau, Bahamas
August 2, 2002: Scand-America Tours, Norway, and Bahamasair announce the introduction of services connecting Nassau with Havana, Cuba.
Seamless Flights Available Via Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando Offer U.S. Passengers the Freedom to Fly to Cuba
Mr. Jostein Grosaas, director of Scand-American Tours, is delighted to announce the introduction of regular scheduled charter service between The Bahamas and Cuba starting October 17th, 2002. The route will be serviced by four weekly flights using Boeing 737 aircraft accommodating 120 passengers.
"The service," stated Mr. Grosaas, "will allow European and other travelers heading to Cuba to connect seamlessly in Nassau on the same airline from Bahamasair's gateways in Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, at an introductory fare of $99.00 each way."
The Havana Flying Club of Toronto will handle the sales and reservations for the flights, as well as offer a wide range of land-based programs in Cuba and The Bahamas. Mr. Grosaas added, "I am certain the introduction of a reliable service between The Bahamas and Cuba, serviced by Bahamasair Boeing 737 aircraft and supported by a first class sales and reservation team, will set a new standard in the provision of travel to Cuba."
Mr. Paul Major, Managing Director of Bahamasair stated, "this initiative is important both for the airline and the promotion of tourism to The Bahamas, as it will allow travelers to combine two of the world's premier destinations into a single vacation."
