Palenque

The Palenque Ruins are located in Mexico. They cover fifteen square miles of a jungle surrounded plateau. Discovered by Spaniards in 1750, the archeological zone encompasses the remains of the most highly developed ceremonial centers of the classic Maya Epoch.
