Vancouver Island

Vancouver Island is located west of the mainland of British Columbia, separated by the Gulf of Georgia. Access to the island is via a two hour ferry ride or a 30 minute flight. Logging and fishing have been the island's main economy, however, both these industries are coming to an end. Most of the communities now depend on tourism. The island offers the outdoor vacationer plenty. Sport fishing, beach combing, skiing, hiking, hunting, and boating are just a few of the activities possible.
