<- Back to Mexico Home Page One of our favorite places is Mexico and when we were younger it was our destination every winter. We've stayed in small motels and huge hotels; parked in remote campsites and locals' driveways
and been lost many
times in huge cities such as Mexico City, Merida and Guadalajara.
We climbed to the top of
the Pyramid of the Sun and hiked deep into the tombs at Chichen Itza; we ate at the fanciest restaurants and
at the local fiestas. We walked on the beaches of Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta, Cancun and Mazatlan.
We had some special moments, too.
When looking for my Spanish teacher's parents home in Mexico City, we got lost. We were then
escorted 30 miles by
two policemen on a motor bike, right to the doorstep.
Our wiring burned out in our camper in Tampico. The local Ford dealer's labor charge for two
hours; $12 Canadian.
We exchanged addresses with two waiters in Vera Cruz.
We went dancing with a local policeman and his girlfriend in Mazatlan.
