Without any real natural resources, the country depends on foreign trade and imports all its petroleum products, industrial machinery and motor vehicles via freighters.
The standard of living is very high and although the chief of state is monarchy, the country is run by an elected prime
minister with four-year terms. Employment is high in manufacturing of silver goods and sought-after furnishing.
Most of the population speaks English.
