A country as vast as America experiences a variety of climatic conditions, including winter's chilly blasts of arctic air in the northern parts, tropical savanna, humid continental warm summer and Mediterranean.

The United States is the world's leading industrial nation. Its chief manufactured goods are processed foods, chemicals, transportation equipment, industrial machinery and electronic equipment. Service industries are significant sectors of the economy, employing almost three fourths of the work force. Tourism thrives in many regions. Fahrenheit, miles and pounds are the measurements used.
